2025 Grammy nominations live updates: Beyoncé leads the way
The road to Grammys glory starts today, as nominations for the 67th annual music awards are revealed.
The Recording Academy announced contenders across a staggering 94 categories, by far the most of any major award show.
With her leading 11 nominations, Beyoncé now has 99 total career nods, making her the most nominated artist in Grammy history (she previously shared the record with husband Jay-Z with 88). Her 32 wins also make her the most awarded artist in Grammy history.
And in the music industry, it's another good year for women. Yes, it's true, women dominate the record and album of the year categories, as well as best pop solo performance, best pop vocal album, best R&B performance, best R&B song, best Americana performance, best folk album and best Latin pop album.

Did you know? With her album of the year nod for "The Tortured Poets Department," Taylor Swift is the first woman to land seven nominations in the category. It's also her fourth consecutive album to earn the honor.

Did you know? The Beatles’ “Now and Then” is an example of how AI fits into Grammy nominations. The technology was used as a production tool, not as a replacement for human creativity, which is the Grammy standard for allowing AI use. The song comes from old tapes and recording sessions of the band while all of the members were alive.
Producer Giles Martin broke the song down with USA TODAY last year, saying "Paul truly loved John and without question they missed each other. There were only four Beatles and like trauma, they were the only ones who could understand because they're the only ones who experienced it. I think that’s why Paul wanted to finish 'Now and Then.' It was seen as the final collaboration of the four of them."

Did you know? It might feel like Sabrina Carpenter is a new artist because of her breakout this year, but "Short n' Sweet" is her sixth album. And these are her first Grammy nominations.
Two artist nabbed nominations in The Big Four categories
Innovative Midwest Princess Chappell Roan and steamy “Espresso” singer Sabrina Carpenter were named in all four of the Grammy’s biggest categories: album of the year, record of the year, song of the year and best new artist. They each earned a total of six nominations.
Best rock album
You know it’s going to be a diverse year when The Rolling Stones and Fontaines DC are in the same category.
Paramore’s Hayley Williams announced the category, which her band won last year with “This is Why.”

Did you know? The Rolling Stones have 14 career Grammy nominations and three wins – not including their 1987 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. If "Hackney Diamonds" wins, it will be their first in a rock category since 1995, when "Voodoo Lounge" nabbed the honor. The band did win in 2018 for best traditional blues album with "Blue & Lonesome."

Daniel Radcliff at the Grammys? The “Harry Potter” actor starred in “Merrily We Roll Along” on Broadway alongside Jonathan Groff and Lindsay Mendez. It was nominated in the best musical theater album category.
When the lauded show closed this summer, Radcliff told USA TODAY “I couldn’t have wished for anything more” about his turn in the Stephen Sondheim revival.

Did you know? Amy Allen definitely has an ear for pop songs. She’s worked with Harry Styles a couple of times and was part of his album of the year win in 2023 for “Harry’s House” for co-writing “Matilda.”
Did you know? This is also Raye’s first Grammy nomination. Last year, when her 2023 album “My 21st Century Blues” was overlooked, she said she wasn’t upset at all because she’s “barely scratched the surface” of her career. And here we are.

How many people vote for the Grammys?
Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. talked with USA TODAY last night and noted several times that he is "so proud" of the job that the 13,000 voting members did this year with the nominees. They are voted on by members of the Recording Academy, which includes songwriters, composers, musicians, producers, engineers and more. The trend he sees is "excellence, regardless of genre."
What is the Grammy eligibility period for the 2025 awards?
